NO HIBERNATION FOR EDNA BEAR

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

Hey friends and fans! I didn't write last month because I got so busy with shows and classes and weddings, it completely slipped my mind. This month is full of surprises though! I'll share what's coming up first and then post some pics of the stuff you already missed.

First - I got signed to Johnson Talent Agency! YAY

CALENDAR

THIS SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY - STAND-UP AT A BACKYARD EVENT (12/5)

I've been invited to perform new work at this local variety show so I'll be trying out some new jokes at 3 PM this weekend in the East Bay. For address, email me at:

edna@potatoesmashed.com

(Enter through the gate around the corner on 9th Street.)

FILMING A MOVIE SCENE (THE LICKING) tomorrow in San Leandro! You can't come, sorry.

SECOND CITY GRAD CLASS VIRTUAL SHOW (12/12)

My grad revue 2 class' last show of the year before we enter our final semester. We started scripting our improv sessions and it's getting really fun. I'm more confident in my improvisation and writing skills! Why didn't I do this 10 years ago?!!!!!!

Show is at 5 PM Pacific Time, 7 PM Central (Chicago) Time.

STAND-UP SET IN HOLLYWOOD (12/15)

I have the chance to try out my stand-up in front of people who run Comedy Madness which mentors and books comedians for corporate and casino gigs around the country. I have some new jokes I really dig but looking on their site, their Monday night show at The Comedy Store promises no 'blue' or offensive material so mayyyyybe I'm not the right fit. I hope they feel confident in mentoring me though, could use some more side work. They have Tom Arnold and Kabir Singh on their roster. If you find yourself in the Hollywood area, I'll be at the Hotel Cafe at 1623 N Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028.

Show is at 9 PM. Tickets are $20 and HERE is the link to buy it!

BAD HABITS: THE NAUGHTY LIST AT CONVENT ART HOUSE (12/17)

Join local drag queens and kings in a night of holiday debauchery at Convent Art House: 660 Oak street, SF. No one turned away for lack of funds but suggested donation is $5-15. Show is at 9:30 PM!

THE SHENANIGANS CIRCUS FAMILY (12/18)

I'm playing a character in The LAMA Shack, a secret outdoor Oakland theater. It's a new variety circus in the style of a television sitcom and it's going to be super fun! Tickets are on the pricey side because they're paying all of the artists decently. The ticket price includes the Show, a delicious vegetarian Dinner, Festive Cocktails/Mocktails and samplings from our local Weed fairy!!! (Contact us for executive packages for groups and unlimited libations)

“Buy a kid a ticket”- you can buy an extra ticket as a donation to a community artist who may not have the means to support their own entry. Support LAMA's (Local Artists and Musicians Assoc.) local philanthropic effort to bring arts to underserved communities. Here is the LINK TO SHOW TICKETS! Show from 6-10 PM!

MOCKTAILGATE AT POWERHOUSE BAR IN SOMA (12/19)

Drag queens impersonate fellow local drag queens in a wild night of comedy and song!

I'll be playing the goth queen herself, Kochina Rude. Show is at 10 PM!

And after that, I'm going to Tennessee to visit my adopted mother and I'll hopefully see you around the New Year!

The horror anthology movie I was in, SINPHONY, premiered at Comic-Con in San Diego last Monday! I couldn't go because I was teaching a physical comedy class at USF, which was great, btw. I can't wait to teach again!

PICS OF STUFF YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

My Joan Holden monologue for the Mission tour went really well and I got to meet her! The Terror Vault ended; I played so many characters! My Second City show was really fun last month. And I performed at PRINCESS for the first time at Oasis with my Palace of Trash drag crew.

Enjoy your holidays, whatever you celebrate. Don't feel alone. We're all struggling right now with this virus scare and its repercussions.

Keep yourself safe. Eat your greens. :) Peace!
