Happy New Year, friends! I hope 2024 is starting on the up and up for you; winter's a difficult season, but we made it through the gawd-awful holidays! (she says, as she chugs coconut nog and whiskey with tears in her eyes)
The world's going to hell in a handbasket, but since I can't fix it, I figured I'd share opportunities to laugh. "Drumroll, please!"
< Look, it's me, naked and covered in blood. Hilarious.
SHOWS UPCOMING (brief, for now):
9 TO 5 LIVE opens tonight!!! It's my first drag parody on the Oasis stage. She's "movin' on up, to a deluxe apartment in the sky"... not, I still live in a basement!
But this is a full theatrical run so I'm excited.
Catch us Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 PM through Feb. 3rd!
I did stand-up twice last year. Not great, but I do such a variety of performance for money, it's hard to stay consistent. So I guess I'm doing my bi-annual standup set at SAFE WORDS again, at the Eagle on Folsom street on February 28th at 7 PM. Safe Words is run by Wonder Dave, who is a total delight! Please come!
I have a bunch of plans in the works for the coming year. I've been asked to write for a sketch show and a secret stage play and I'm in the process of writing my second solo show, set to premiere this fall at Cutting Ball Theatre. I'm probably going to Canada for Edmonton Fringe and I may return to Fresno for their Rogue Fest to bring back "Brother Love's Goodtime Gospel Hr" with Noam Osband. Lots of positives in the tunnel!
You know I do eight million shows a month so I cannot possibly recap everything since my last blog, but below are some photos of some fun I had in the winter. At the end is a pic of the Día de los Muertos altar I made for Nike because he's a king; Univisión showed up and interviewed me about him. It was surreal and exactly what he would have wanted.
Enjoy and I hope to see you at 9 to 5!
